Thomas studying the drink list

Welcome to our ONLINE STORE  and blog.

As a barware, lighting and home accessories design company, at Thomas Fuchs Creative we specialize in handmade goods. Every week we give you a behind the scenes look at the people, places and things that inspire us.

While in Milan for Milan Design Week we are always on the hunt for places frequented by the people in the know. This lead us to world famous La Scala's bar and restaurant called Il Foyer

Il Foyer Bar

While other  VIP people attending Salone del Mobile went to the opening night of Scala thanks to American Airlines both Thomas and I missed it so we just went for drinks holding all our post Salone meetings in the bar where the aperitif and after dinner is the real highlight.

The cocktail list created by the Milanese Bar Manager Matteo De Palma, who arrived at Il Foyer after his stellar career as a barman in the world of great Milanese hôtellerie at a very young age, includes unique and original concoctions  made with processing techniques such as ice carving and smoking with selected raw ingredients.

The Drink List

At Il Foyer you will be inspired by the operas and ballets that animate the nearby and prestigious Teatro alla Scala every day. From the drink list it will be possible to taste among the various cocktails offered: Giuseppe Verdi's Aida based on Belvedere Vodka infused with Sakura tea, ginger liqueur, raspberry shrub, pomegranate juice, aphrodisiac bitters, red fruit soda and red wine , smoked with aphrodisiac spices, Swan Lake with Hendrick's Gin, lime juice, St. Germain liqueur, agave and basil syrup is just one of the few perfections of the resident mixologist.

Blacker Thank Blackest Black w/ Bow Tie

The Nuovo Regio Ducal Teatro alla Scala [2] [3] , simply known as Teatro alla Scala , colloquially called La Scala , is the main opera house of Milan . Considered among the most prestigious theaters in the world, for 245 years it has hosted leading artists in the international fields of opera , ballet and classical music .

The building, designed by Giuseppe Piermarini and inaugurated in 1778 with the opera L'Europacognita composed for the occasion by Antonio Salieri , was built following the destruction, in 1776 , due to a fire, of the Ducal Theater .

The Dining Room

The new venue, completely renovated and inspired by the luxe interiors of the Teatro alla Scala. The new environment pays homage to Milan's in great style. The spaces have been redefined to offer and enhance the different culinary experiences of the new design cult place that embodies the city's lifestyle.

The project, entrusted to Michael Vincent Uy, an architect with a studio in Milan who has a long experience in the world of luxury, included furnishing elements that highlight the elegance of the environment  with enveloping red velvet sofas and armchairs, refined glass and marble tables and golden appliques that create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Cozy Corners

The new restaurant conquers the most demanding palates by further enlivening the Milanese gastronomic scene and offers an innovative menu characterized by the reworking of traditional Italian recipes, reviving the Maestro's creations in a modern key.

The kitchen brigade is led by Executive Chef Anatolij Franzese, who arrived in the Marchesi world in 2016, developed in the Piazza della Scala in Milan, the Great Italian Cuisine in the renown Marchesi style of simplicity and elegance.

Gold Leaf Saffron Risotto

Gualtiero Marchesi's rice and gold, an iconic dish recognized throughout the world, is the centerpiece of the brand of the new Il Foyer restaurant. Starting from "Rice, gold and saffron" guests are able to taste the traditional symbols of the cuisine.

The restaurant also offers an indispensable tradition of the pre- and post-theatre dinner, offering guests refreshments before the show or during the interval, or to round off the evening with an unparalleled dinner once the theater performance is over.

Thomas Fuchs Barware

The adjacent cafeteria, a new meeting point for those who love to enjoy breakfast away from home, is filled with sweet and savory pastries by the Italian-Argentine Pastry Chef Matias Ortiz.
