Thomas Fuchs for The NapKing

Miami based home design company Thomas Fuchs Creative often takes inspiration from nature for their barware and tabletop collections. Their vivd new collection Giardini di Miami, keeps the theme and aligns with the Italian heritage of their design partner, The NapKing.

The NapKing brings lush, large-scale screen printed tablecloth collections to their parent company, Bellavia - a family owned producer based in Palermo, Sicily for more than 60 years, known for their limited editions of hand embroidered fine linen and cotton. The new Giardini table linen collaboration with TFC is a colorful celebration of the flora and fauna beloved by both companies - referencing the famed Vizcaya Estate in Miami’s Coconut Grove. The early 20th century property is a gardener’s dream of Italian Renaissance and woodland landscaping, showcasing Veneto and Tuscan design and Mediterranean Revival architecture.

Printed in the rich technicolors of Miami and the Mediterranean, each set of napkins, tablecloths, and table runners features cheeky classical topiaries (poodles, giraffes, alligators, rabbits); lily pads, tadpoles and dragonflies; or clever renderings of butterflies, mosquitos and ladybugs.

The design of the Giardini di Miami collection was conceived by Thomas Fuchs as a continuation of TFC’s highly regarded Tavolo Dinners, a longstanding series of events highlighting local Miami artists in an immersive dining experience - with menu, installations, tablescapes and presentations featuring the artists’ work. Each table theme is designed to saturate the participants in color and experience, making The NapKing’s full scale, edge-to-middle prints the perfect canvas for TFC’s fantastical imagery.
