An American In Paris
Its Sunday morning the last day of Art Basel Miami a week long of festivities kicking off with the Dior fashion show to openings and dinners and art shows from Miami Beach to Wynwood to Miami Design District and beyond. It is quite fitting that I sit here this morning writing this blog listening to Gustavo Dudamel direction the Orchestra de Jeunes du Venezula playing the iconic George Gershiwn’s soundtrack to the great movie “An American in Paris”
Like the American movie classic “An American In Paris” American World War II veteran Jerry Mulligan (Gene Kelly) is an exuberant expatriate in Paris trying to make a reputation as a painter. His friend and neighbor, Adam Cook (Oscar Levant), is a struggling concert pianist and longtime associate of a French singer, Henri Baurel (Georges Guétary). At the ground-floor bar, Henri tells Adam about his cultured girlfriend, Lise Bouvier (Leslie Caron). Jerry joins them later, before going out to sell his ART.
Both Thomas and I have so many connections to Paris, France being the epitome of fashion , music and trend through all the centuries we are overwhelmed with honour and pride in now knowing our “Arts De La Table “ ½ & ½ Melamine Collection is now sold at The Louvre, The Picasso Museum, Fondation Louis Vuitton, Chateau Versailles, Musee d’ Orsay, The Pompidou & Le Grand Palais.
As the world turns and changes we at Thomas Fuchs Creative bring you art in every day form for you to utilize on a daily basis without compromising quality at a price point everyone can enjoy.
From our Murano Glass Chandelier and Table Lamps to our hand-blown glass barware to our hand-poured melamine collection we instill each process of manufacturing with an element of the #handmade to give our products the resonance and uniqueness that catches the eye and moves the soul in knowing each piece is touched by a fellow human and that beautiful energy of art is brought into your home making you smile when you turn your lights on to pour yourself a drink and eat on our plates!
As we all know the French standard of art and design are parallel to none so for our products to have been chosen is a validation beyond words along with the product codes and manufacturing ethics and conscious Europe holds is a higher standard to what we have here in the great USA.
We invite you to scroll down and see the products chosen for the museum stores and featured in the catalog that was a supplement in Le Figaro and Elle France. Each time you see a picture of the historical museums it will take your breath away knowing all our hard work in launching our retail arm of our company through its highs and lows to get to this point has been worth the validation.
Dreams do come true….
