The Unexpected Sparks of Inspiration: A Story of Style & Vision

Malini Murjani and Themis Zouganeli

As a barware, lighting and home accessories design company, at Thomas Fuchs Creative we specialize in handmade goods.

Every week, we take you behind the scenes to explore the people, places, and things that inspire us.

Inspiration is a funny thing—you never really know where it will come from. Sometimes, it strikes in the most unexpected places, through chance encounters, childhood memories, or the impeccable taste of those with a natural instinct for what’s next.

Malini & Michou - Regents Park to Miami

Recently, I was reminded of this when reconnecting with my childhood friend, Malini Murjani. If her last name rings a bell, it should—her father played a pivotal role in shaping the fashion industry as we know it, discovering and funding some of the most iconic American brands, including Tommy Hilfiger and Gloria Vanderbilt Jeans. With an eye for business and an innate sense of style passed down from her father, Malini has carved out her own space in the world of fashion and design, bringing together a discerning sense of curation that is as effortless as it is influential.

When I popped over to meet Malini at The Edition Miami Beach for her latest trunk show, I sipped champagne while watching one beauty after the next try on dresses and all I could notice is the colour combination of the latest Themis Z Collection matched all our Thomas Fuchs Creative Melamine Dinnerware Collection.

The Art of Curation: MM Curate

Malini’s latest venture, MM Curate, is the ultimate destination for all things handpicked and carefully sourced. Before editors, buyers, and influencers latch onto the latest trends, there’s always an underground current of tastemakers setting the scene. Malini is one of those rare few—curating collections that define what’s next before the mainstream catches on.

Recently, she arrived at The Edition Miami Beach, tucked away in a chic bungalow with pool access, for an intimate Trunk Show showcasing hand-selected pieces from Themis Zouganeli, her college friend and a brilliant designer in her own right.

Themis Zouganeli: Timeless Elegance with a Mediterranean Soul

Themis Zouganeli is the creative force behind Themis Z, a luxury lifestyle brand that masterfully blends Greek heritage with modern sophistication. Raised in a world of art and culture—her father, George Zouganelis, was a renowned Greek architect—Themis naturally gravitated toward design, developing a distinctive aesthetic inspired by the clean lines of classical Greek architecture and the effortless elegance of the Mediterranean lifestyle.

Her collections feature homeware, jewelry, and fashion, all embodying an understated yet refined luxury. Each piece is carefully crafted, reflecting her philosophy that beauty should be both effortless and functional. Her signature geometric motifs and soft color palettes have made Themis Z a favorite among those who appreciate timeless, artful design.

  • Harrods London – One of the most iconic department stores in the world, known for its curated luxury collections.

When Style Meets Vision

Watching Malini in her element, seamlessly blending business acumen with an instinct for style, reminded me how inspiration can come from the people we’ve known all our lives. It’s a testament to how the influences we grew up with—whether through family, friendships, or simply being surrounded by those with a creative pulse—shape the way we see the world.

As trends continue to evolve, it’s curators like Malini who stand at the forefront, not just following the wave but creating it. Because true style isn’t about chasing trends—it’s about defining them.

The Takeaway? Stay Open to Inspiration

Whether it's a childhood friend, a hidden boutique, or a trunk show in a sunlit Miami bungalow, inspiration can strike anywhere. You just have to be paying attention.

Have a great weekend,
