Welcome to our ONLINE STORE and blog.
As a barware, lighting and home accessories design company, at Thomas Fuchs Creative we specialize in handmade goods. Every week we give you a behind the scenes look at the people, places and things that inspire us.
This week we take you to Israel where, despite what people want to believe, all the youth have the same dreams we do.
Sometimes the most interesting discoveries happen when you’re not even looking for them. I spend a fair amount of time scrolling men’s fashion on Instagram, and one day Albi appeared in my feed thanks to modern day algo-rhythm (pun intended).
The pieces felt oversized, assured, but beyond the clothes, there was something personal in the energy. So I messaged. That’s how I met Liam Kedem, the27-year-old founder, and before long, a pair of navy linen Iki Pants was on its way from Tel Aviv to Italy.
That’s still kind of astonishing to me, this instantaneous cross-cultural connection. Albi is young, but not rootless. Liam grew up around his father’s studio, Kedem Sasson, a designer with over 30 years in fashion, whose exploration of oversized silhouettes began decades ago. He’s taken that legacy and translated it for his own generation. Albi means "my heart" in Arabic, and it’s also the name of Liam’s nephew. The brand’s philosophy is simple: Heart First.

That’s more than a slogan. It feels like a description of how they actually work together as a family, as a team, some of whom have been there for decades. The approach is refreshing. Instead of chasing trends, Albi revisits consistent silhouettes across fabrics and seasons. The idea is that clothes should move with you through changing seasons and changing bodies. One size fits all, not as a gimmick, but as an invitation to let clothing adapt to real life. That’s one of the things I find most compelling. Because sustainability isn’t only about materials. It’s about longevity, about creating something that won’t be discarded in six months because fashion moved on.(ALBI)(ALBI)
Meeting Liam made me think about my own path. I grew up in a business family too, and while I didn’t take on the family business, that entrepreneurial impulse never really leaves you. Maybe, before becoming an entrepreneur, many of us are "wantrepreneurs", carrying a desire to build something before we even know what it will be.
That’s why I find stories like Liam’s so compelling. There is enormous value in inheriting not just a business but a craft, a way of working, and then saying, let me show you what I see. That’s legacy, that’s entrepreneurship, and in this case, it happens to come in a wonderfully oversized pair of navy linen pants. Living large indeed.
