One day a gift package was delivered to Hazy and when she opened it she found a boy bear cookie jar with a love letter inside. Hazy was instantly smitten - the size, the character, the functionality - and just like that the one cookie jar turned into a collection of about a hundred. 

Hazy Mae hailing from upstate NY now settled in Brooklyn was always fascinated by jars, paints and anime films she tells us her calling came to fruition having her folk art in the kitchens she dreamed of having.

As with any journey Hazy had enrolled at the continuing education pottery classes at the School of Visual Arts on 23rd Street. From that stint to the NY Now Trade Show , Superfine and more her orders were growing faster than people can bake cookies to place in her hand kilned whimsical creations.

I came across her on instagram the new midnight global highway of discovery watching cars and creative trucks driving toward us with head lights shining so bright that its not till you come across certain accounts as you scroll through feeds are you able to decipher the true creativity worthy of picking up a metaphorical "pen" or "sliding into the DM" hoping the artist will find my blog worthy of an interview.

As Oprah says " what I know for sure" , is that Hazy Mae's creations will not only make you smile they will transport you back to times when people made things by hand cartoons and fashion characters you may recognize striking your impulse to gift yourself or someone near and dear.
