Grannies Teaching Us How 2 Make Fresh Pasta In The Streets Of Bari, Italy- Watch The Video

Thomas & Friends Making HandMade Pasta in our friends who we lovingly refer to as "The Potatoes" Kitchen

Welcome to our Online Store and Blog.

Every Monday and Friday we take you behind the scenes showing you people, places and things that inspire us. Since 100% of our home accessories are handmade it makes sense that Thomas would make his own #handmadepasta !!

We love cooking, mostly because it brings people together.  Recently, we got our squad together and had everyone involved in making home-made pasta! Naturally, we'll share how easy it really is, and fun!

Food Looks Good and Tastes Better in our Thomas Fuchs Serving Set

So follow this easy step-by-step guide and you'll be a master pasta maker in no time.  Pair with great wine, close friends and maybe our 1/2 & 1/2 Collection table ware.

This simple fresh pasta recipe yields delicious noodles you can cut into virtually any shape, from spaghetti to lasagna, ravioli to fettuccine.

PREP: ABOUT 15 MINUTES / SERVES 6

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup semolina flour

Egg & Flour Mixture

STEP 1: PREPARE THE INGREDIENTS

In a small bowl, whisk the first six ingredients. Set aside.

On a clean work surface, mix the all-purpose and semolina flours, forming a mound. Make a large well in the center. Pour the egg mixture into the well.

Mix Egg & Flour

STEP 2: MIX TOGETHER

Now the fun part: Using a fork or your fingers, gradually mix the flour mixture into the egg mixture, forming a soft, slightly sticky dough. Lightly dust your work surface with flour, then knead the dough gently five times. Divide into six portions; cover with plastic wrap. Let rest 30 minutes.

Roll Out The Pasta Noodle

STEP 3: MAKE THE NOODLES

At this point, you can roll the noodles into any shape you’d like.

Roll each ball into a 10×8-inch rectangle with a rolling pin. The thinner the better! Dust the surface lightly with flour, then roll up jelly-roll-style. Cut into 1/4-inch-wide strips for fettuccine, broader strips for lasagna or thin spaghetti noodles.

Boil The Pasta

STEP 4: COOK THE PASTA

Cook your noodles in salted boiling water for 1-3 minutes until al dente. Get ready for joy.  Serve with your favorite sauce or perhaps just some parmesan cheese, olive oil, a few herbs and cracked black pepper!

STEP 5: SERVE THE PASTA ON A THOMAS FUCHS MELAMINE DINNER PLATE
